ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:
Willie Franklin was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1949. He was an All-American in football and track, and state runner-up in wrestling at Mesa
Community Junior College. Willie enrolled at the University of Oklahoma and played football while gaining a degree in Education. In 1971 he was a walk-on
with the Baltimore Colts and made the team and played for them for almost two years. During this time, in 1973, he was converted to Christ by Ron Fletcher.
In 1974, Willie signed with the Los Angeles Rams, but his heart was more in the Lord's work. He decided to give up pro-football to attend Harding
University for a two year preaching program in 1975 (Biblical Studies). He has been honored to preach in Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Missouri and has
been a part of mission works in Jamaica, Canada, Alaska (while in college) and full-time mission work in Papua New Guinea and Australia.
In 1983, Willie married Pam Albanese and they are blessed with four children - Natalie, Janelle, Rachelle and James. Willie and his family now work with
the Aubrey church of Christ (Aubrey, TX) and he continues to be a “man on a mission” – to seek & save the lost!
